Quarterly Meeting 4 | May 20, 2026
The QM4 centered on taking a moment to celebrate a great year for the NYC STEM Education Network. We gathered at the Intrepid Sea, Air, & Space Museum to learn about the great progress of our working groups this year and to plant seeds for next year. Each working group presented on their work this year. The Evaluation work group produced a concise, information-packed slide deck orienting network members to to the new NYCPS data policies. The Professional learning working group explored several layers for supporting and communicating with NYCPS teachers, as well as higher-level communication about our collective work. The Career Pathways working group tackled an ambitious goal of producing a career pathway case study around green jobs in NYC. The Partnerships working group recognized the opportunity afforded by the new COMPASS contract overhaul, with explicit inclusion of STEM, to better connect Network members as partners with new COMPASS afterschool sites.
Quarterly Meeting 3 | March 4, 2026
The QM3 “Failure is an Option” centered on exploring failure as a critical part of learning, growth, and innovation within our work. Through interactive activities, including a drug discovery simulation and reflective exercises, participants examined how failure shows up both professionally and personally, and how resilience, collaboration, and humor can help move ideas forward. Attendees also shared challenges across key focus areas like evaluation, professional learning, partnerships, and career pathways, identifying common barriers and opportunities for growth.
Quarterly Meeting 2 | December 3, 2025
The QM2 “Growing Professional and STEAM Skills” meeting focused on equipping network members with strategies to better align student learning with workforce readiness and career pathways. Participants engaged in interactive discussions around key professional and technical skills, such as critical thinking, communication, and agency, and explored frameworks like employability profiles and career exploration tools. The session highlighted how programs can bridge gaps between STEM learning experiences and real-world job expectations, while also identifying opportunities for policy and advocacy alignment.
Quarterly Meeting 1 | September 25, 2025
The QM1 “Learning & Working Together” meeting brought together members of the NYC STEM Education Network to strengthen collaboration, share updates, and advance collective goals for the 2025–26 year. Attendees explored key network initiatives, including the launch of a new website, highlights from Sloan-funded STEM partnerships, and opportunities tied to the upcoming COMPASS RFP. The session also introduced new and continuing working groups designed to foster collaboration, resource-sharing, and innovation across the network.
