WORKING / LEARNING GROUPS
Working and Learning Groups are designed to foster community through collective action around shared problems of practice. Members of working groups can find purpose through learning, sharing, and/or providing organizational leadership.
PAST WORKING GROUP PROJECTS
-
2025-2026 Work Focus: Organizations collect program data for a variety of reasons (e.g., reporting to funders, outcomes, refining models). When gathering data, it is essential to protect participants’ privacy and safety. The group designed an overview of New York City policy, including highlights from data collection practices used across the NYC STEM Education Network.
-
2025-2026 Work Focus: Letter from NYC STEM Education Network to new Chancellor of New York City Public Schools, Kamar H. Samuels
-
2025-2026 Work Focus: Chose a particular STEM discipline, conduct landscape analysis and create a case study that can be used to strengthen the K-12 to college/career pipeline for that particular discipline.
Outcome: Recommendation for future group to “create a case study that will not only identify strengths and weaknesses within that discipline’s K-12 through Career pipeline but share information how others within the Network can use this information effectively.”
-
2025-2026 Work Focus: To better understand the needs, capacity, and partnership interests of NYC STEM Education Network members in relation to the COMPASS RFP, and to explore how the network can serve as a connector between providers, schools, and community-based organizations
Outcome: COMPASS Resource Guide
